surrender to a holistic approach to physical and mental health and balance
Namaste, I am Subodani which is my spiritual name given to me by my Guruji, Yogrishi Vishvketu, and means Inner Beauty, Wisdom and Oneness. Priscilla is the name given to me at birth.
I grew up in the Himalayas surrounded by nature and from early age I had an inclination towards a deeper and more meaningful way of life but got distracted by the worldly, busy way of life so much so it started to take its toll on me. Eventually my life came crashing down bringing me into depression and turning my world upside down, not to forget how it affected my health. Everything i was taught was to look outward. Through the hardships I learnt to go within. I knew this was no way of living and I had to find a more sustainable, meaningful way of living. Though I was practicing yoga on and off in January 2013 is when I seriously started to practice Yoga and it changed my life. It brought so much meaning in my life. It changed how I saw myself and my relationships with my family and friends.
Fast forward, since 2013, I am practicing Yoga and in 2022 because of my love and passion for Yoga that I decided to become a Yoga teacher. My purpose is to be of service and help other souls that are experiencing the same difficulties that I faced that there is another way of life which can bring balance and alignment within oneself one breath at a time. I have been very blessed to have found my Guruji who founded Akhanda Yoga and who is based in Rishikesh, India. Under his guidance and training I have learnt Yoga the traditional way.
Akhanda meaning WHOLE is a traditional yoga which includes the five physical principles which are asanas, pranayama - breath work, sound work, yogic philosophy with chanting of mantras and meditation along with the five energetic principles of which are grounding, uplifting, centering, expansion and connecting.
Each principle compliments the other and is an incomplete practice if one of the principles is missing. Yoga is not just a work out but it is a work in and not just practiced on the mat but is something one incorporates into their daily life. Once you start to practice Yoga incorporating all the aspects I have mentioned you will start to experience subtle changes within yourself. Yoga helps you to pause and take a moment with each breath bringing inner peace and calm.
Akhanda is open for every age group, irrespective of where you are in your practice or life. If you are open and ready to try a new traditional way of life which isn’t really new as Yoga is more than 2000 years old and has been passed down by the great saints and sages of India then Akhanda Yoga is for you. If you would like to try Akhanda Yoga please contact me and let’s start a new tradition of healthy mindful living.
See you on the mat.
